While the Director of Photography Mohsin Akhtar captures the climax of the film is sensational, bringing the acts of Commander Karan Saxena to life making the audience engaged until the end. Vidyut Jammwal in the lead role looks perfect playing the role of commander Karan Saxena, intense and charming at the same time. The fight scenes are impressive, and he performs most of the stunts including martial arts, which gives the movie an original and realistic feel of the dangerous landscapes of the missions.

One must also appreciate Kriti Kharbanda’s performance as the medical doctor, Ananya as she edgy submissive persona complements Vidyut Mal’s Karan Saxena well. Naseeruddin Shah incorporates his usual charm in the movie and every scene that he features in he elevates the movie to another level.

The plot itself is quite intricate and interesting, the development of the twists and episodes is made skillfully. Chase scenes and other heavy physical sequences are well thought and the overall picture is very dynamic and tense due to the camera work. The movie also has excellent scenes of drama to bring out the character’s personalities and feel for their hardships.

In my opinion, Commander Karan Saxena is a splendid inclusion into action-thriller genre of films. The movie presents interesting action and plot, and the focus on emotions is made impressive by Vidyut Jammwal as the film’s protagonist. Some of the features that make Kapoor outstanding are that he is natural in portraying an authoritative figure of Commander Karan Saxena, and his heroism is also quite believable and quite realistic. Kriti Kharbanda is equally good and Naseeruddin Shah comes out with a subtle performance which gives a new dimension to the picture.

The plot of the movie was quite tensed, and the action scenes perfectly directed making me uncomfortable throughout the movie. However, the film has some interesting features where pacing could be enhanced a little In view of this, the strengths of the film far outweigh whatever weaknesses it has. All in all, Commander Karan Saxena is as good a movie as it gets for the audience seeking some engaging entertainment.
